Dr. Alpha Ousmane TOURE is an Associate Professor of Process Engineering at Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar. He is the coordinator of the undergraduate program of Chemical Engineering at Ecole Superieure Polytechnique. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees to become a chemical engineer in 2004. He completed master’s and doctorate degrees in process and environmental engineering. Dr TOURE has over 12 years in industrial waste valorization. As a Fulbright scholar who has served on the research faculty at Oregon State University from 2018 to 2019, Dr. Toure has international exchange experience through joint research projects with Howard University at Washington, DC., Oregon State University and the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse at the Laboratoire de Genie Chimique in France. He coordinates the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program with Lehman College at the City University of New York. Dr TOURE teaches courses such as Material and Energy Balances, Fluid Mechanics, Physical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Process Engineering and Plant Design. Since 2022, Dr. TOURE was appointed as Courtesy Faculty at Oregon State University. His research interests relate urban and industrial waste valorization, water and wastewater treatment, low carbon cement, biofuel processing and renewables. Dr TOURE published more than 30 papers in international journals.
